Guangwu International Ski Resort (Guangwu Mountain Resort) is located in the southern mountain of Tiangelao Village, Guangwu Town, Shanyin County. It is located in the "39 ° N Golden Ski Belt" and deeply integrates with the surrounding historical sites such as the Ming Great Wall, Yanmen Pass, and Guangwu Ancient City through the Great Wall No.1 tourist highway.
The overall plan of the project covers an area of 9627 acres (6.4 million square meters), with an estimated total investment of 1 billion yuan, and will be completed in three phases. The overall snow making area is 1.5 million square meters, with the highest point at an altitude of 1860 meters and an elevation difference of over 700 meters. The total length of the snow track is more than 40 kilometers, and 6 cable ways are planned to be detached. The project includes a primary teaching area, a primary, secondary, and senior level, a diving platform, a U-shaped groove, a snow bike, a snow amusement park, and other supporting facilities such as youth hotels and apartments. After the overall plan is implemented, it can accommodate 20000 people simultaneously.
The initial investment is 300 million yuan and will open on December 20, 2022. The first phase of snow production covers an area of 300000 square meters, with the highest point at an altitude of 1400 meters and a vertical height difference of over 300 meters. The first phase has 16 snow tracks, including the longest "Moon Watching Track" with a total length of 1500 meters. It is equipped with an 8-person high-speed lifting box and hanging cable car, 1 fixed hanging chair for 4 people, 5 magic carpets, 2 large imported snow rollers, 35 snow makers, a comprehensive service hall of over 15000 square meters, and one mountaintop coffee shop of 600 square meters each, with a daily reception capacity of over 6000 people.
After completing the main project and supporting facilities, Guangwu International Ski Resort will further improve various mountain sports facilities and water sports, committed to using a season of snow to drive the development of the four seasons. At that time, Guangwu Mountain Resort will become a well-known ski resort and Four Seasons Resort town in Shuozhou City, Shanxi Province, and even the whole country, achieving a deep integration of local culture and tourism, and a new situation of natural and cultural beauty.
